Edmond: “To poise on the edge of two realities - the visible one and that of the imagination – is the exceptional phenomenon in my art. I could define my style as "fantastic expressionism" where fantastic stands namely for the "reality-unreality", while expressionism determines my preference for the organized aggressiveness for colors and forms”, the artist says, “Once enter your home they would never leave it.” |

| Edmond Demirdjian graduated in 1983 from the National Academy of Arts in Sofia. Since then he has organized numerous shows in Europe and in the USA. To mention just few of them: Gallery Il Saggiatore, Rome, Italy; Gallery Zinzen, Brussels, Belgium; Landeskulturzentrum, Linz, Austria; Volksbank Gallery, Dornbirn, Austria; Gallery Quatro, Glattfelden, Switzerland; Folly Theater Gallery, Kansas City, USA; Deutsche Bank, New York; Gallery 88, Luxemburg; Schroder Gallery, Ausburg, Germany, etc. Collectors, owners and admires of his pictures are: the star of American football Lawrence Taylor and the famous tennis player Manuela Maleeva; Frank Zappas’ drummer Terry Bozzio; great Italian actors Ugo Tognazzi and Mikele Plachido. Edmond’s paintings are in the collections of The National Art Gallery, Sofia Art Gallery and many other museums in Bulgaria. In 1995 he was honored with the prestigious grant from The Pollock-Krasner Foundation, New York, USA for the exceptional and innovative quality of his art. In 2006 he received the award of Sofia for pronounced achievements in the field of culture and arts. |
