Diane Castonguay Rosati lives and works in the South Shore of Nova Scotia, on Canada's Atlantic Coast.
Her work focuses primarily on printmaking, pastels and watercolor. She looks for forms, shapes and colors in nature, and finds inspiration by walking and sailing the shores of Nova Scotia.
Landscapes, and a more intimate focus on textures and shapes within the landscape, create images used in her work.
Rosati has taught Monoprint Pastel Workshops at The Montclair Art Museum, New Jersey, The Art Lab at Sailor Snug Harbor, Staten Island, New York., and The Yarmouth Art Center in Nova Scotia. She teaches Pastel Classes in Shelburne County and Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia and Printmaking classes at her Tilly’s Head Studio.
She has won many Awards for her work including The Silver Medal of Honor at the Audubon Artists Show, N.Y.C., The National Art Club's Gerald Mennin Award, N.Y.C., and numerous Awards at The Salmagundi Club, and the Pen & Brush Club, N.Y.C. She has had nuemrous solo shows both in New York City and Nova Scotia. She has served on various boards of many professional organizations including; The Salmagundi Club , NYC, The Pastel Society of America , The Pen & Brush, Inc NYC and the Shelburne Art Council of Nova Scotia.
She is represented by several galleries in Nova Scotia, including the Viewpoint Gallery, Halifax; At The Sign of the Whale Art Gallery, Yarmouth; The Moorings Gallery, Mahone Bay; and the Gallery at Sable River. |
