Marius Budu was born on September 17th, 1982 in Romania. Being artistically inclined from a very young age, he constantly sought new ways to expand his means of expression. After briefly studying art in the Fine Arts school in his home city of Timisoara, he immigrated to Canada with his family at the age of 13. The culture shock prompted Marius to expand his knowledge of religion, philosophy and psychology in an attempt to better understand the societal force that fuels human behaviour. In his last year of high school, he started a graphic design business. He later went to Seneca College in Toronto, Ontario to fine tune his graphic design skills. Having worked for five design studios between high school and the end of college, Marius decided to pursue his craft solo through his business, Marius Budu Creative. Following a few pivotal steps in his evolution as an individual, in early 2006 Marius made the life-changing decision to pursue his art, photography and writing on a full time basis. Since then he has had poems published and along side a group art show, launched his first solo gallery exhibit entitled FLOOD - A light and form experience. Dividing his time between his creative passions, a business and his family and friends, Marius has very ambitious plans for the future. |

| Twisted flesh is a psycho-visual attempt to gain some insight into our physical form when stripped of it's humanity. Our body is the one thing we most easily and readily identify with. Usually however, during conversation we look for the face, the eyes - so that we can properly communicate with the other person. Twisted Flesh takes away that option and forces the viewer to examine the uniquely faceless flesh in order to understand what they are seeing. Although we subconsciously interpret body language while conversing with others, we seldom solely rely on it to understand what is being conveyed. Each Twisted Flesh piece will tell it's own story, challenge the viewer in a unique way and ask them to understand the intricacy of the variety of beauty that each one of us embodies.
