Michael Chesley Johnson, PSA, lives in the Canadian Maritimes and paints widely there and also in the American Southwest. An award-winning painter whose oil and pastel landscapes can be seen in galleries in Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Maine and Canada, he works primarily en plein air. A Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America and a juried member of Oil Painters of America, he also is a popular workshop teacher. He has taught painting workshops in scenic locations such as coastal Maine and the Canadian Maritimes, the American Southwest, the Gulf Coast and elsewhere. Also a writer, Michael is the author of The Art of Ann Templeton, a retrospective of the internationally-known artist's career. In addition, he writes for The Pastel Journal, The Artist's Magazine and Watercolor Magic, and he has written for American Artist and Southwest Art. He is currently at work on a book for North Light Books with Bob Rohm, due out in September 2008. |
