In a time marked by a decay of perceptions and values, people are slowly becoming accustomed to automation. To oppose this alienation I began to work with ideas of "origin" and "creation".

In this context I became aware that colours you use for painting are derived from earth and plants. This discovery opened a new perspective on my art and the picture became to me an experimental field, in which to explore and understand a small part of creation. Depending on the ingredients colours have a particular life of their own – like planet Earth itself. Fine and fluid correspondent alle­gorically to water, rivers, sea, viscous to lava and solid to mountains. Even the canvas can have different forms. My aim is to find order and structure in chaos – in the search for the basic principles of matter.

Analogies to the theme "man-earth-universe" arise from the dialogue between the colour and myself. By combining natural elements of colour creatively laws and structures of nature paint themselves and surprisingly they also reflect the picture of my imagination. (Gisela Kloetzer)
