My art is largely an exploration of "surreal" or fantastic imagery that is derived from my imagination, though strongly rooted in a naturalistic presentation. I abhore cliches and my goal is to bring the viewer challenging and engaging images that are rendered with extremely high technical standards. I want to connect with the viewer in such a way that they can, based their own life experiences, have a unique relationship with the work. |

| In terms of technique and my investigations in visual art, I am largely self taught but do have a university level grounding in all the usual theoretical, migraine inducing stuff too. I have worked as an illustrator for a number of authors, including Clive Barker, Poppy Brite, and China Mieville. Recently, I have focused my attention and deepened my committment to my personal work, a process that has been extremely satisfying. I have work in many private collections in North America and Europe. Through the Strychnin Gallery I have recently had work in the Berlin Kunstsalon and the "Arcanum" show at the Strychnin NYC gallery in New York. In April of 2007 I will be having a 2 man show in Berlin at the Strychnin Gallery. |
