The Ghost and the Flesh, a cross-media performance company as founded by Robert Bowtell, is a multidisciplinary artistic model that encompasses art, music, design, video and sound art into a conceptual and creative performance practice. The ghost and the flesh performance company began as a continuation from devised work with theatre practitioners and music production, construction and commercial engineering, heightening my understanding of these artforms through their combination. |

| My educational credits include a BA Hons degree in Performance at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth under the tuition of Mike Pearson (Brith Gof) and Jill Greenhalgh (the Magdelena Project), allowing their experience and knowledge top heighten my own creative passions. After graduation, I studied for a 1yr diploma in Music Construction and Commercial Engineering at the Manchester Midi School, training with a professional group of sound technicians, producers, engineers and mixers. The school’s staff included Christophe Bride (Mixing), Simon Archer (Producing) as well as Dan Mumberson (Greg Vickers’ studio partner) and Colum Hustler (one foot in the groove records). The direct combination of these disparate practices has allowed me to fulfil an array of technical, artistic and creative roles such as AV technician for production houses, video artist for exhibitions such as Manchester’s NQ4EVA exhibition within its northern quarter as well as being recognised as a musical artist in the Manchester-based Noise festival. Current projects are going from strength to strength with upcoming performances and exhibitions at the Aberystwyth Arts Centre and Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff. |
