Born in Nyirbator, Hungary in 1955. As a result of the Hungarian-Russian revolution in 1956, family immigrated to Canada from Austrian refugee camps in 1958. His love for art and architecture began at a very early age. His choice of medium has transformed throughout the years, from dabbling with oils, playing with pen and ink, finding ease with tempera and evolving to the beauty of watercolors in the mid 1980?s.
His focus has now turned even more powerfully to his vision of sharing his art with the world through expanding the reach of Gabriel Krekk Limited Editions. He travels extensively to do photoshoots, establishing himself with galleries and promoting his limited edition prints. He has a solid following of collectors in Canada, the U.S. and in Europe.
He enjoys the diversity of his subject material and continues to paint what ? rocks? him. His portraits are fast becoming his signature though he continues to appreciate the experience of putting his heart and soul into creating that which is special to another, whether it be their home, car, pet or just that someone special.

| About the Artist |
Gabriel Krekk is recognized as a realism Artist. His work in watercolor has transformed from simplistic soft washes in the 1980?s to the level of dramatic attention to detail that has emerged in the past few years. The challenge that he presents to himself on every new painting is to create a piece that from ten feet away, the viewer would not be able to differentiate it from a photograph. How appropriate to name his touring two dimensional show after the very goal he is aspiring to achieve with his work.As both a Photographer and Artist, the interest in privately commissioned paintings by Krekk is growing rapidly as he is offering more of his time for commissioned pieces. He travels extensively to do photoshoots, establishing himself with galleries and promoting his limited edition prints. He has a solid following of collectors in Canada, the U.S. and in Europe. He is constantly in search of new models, subject materials and the next inspiring opportunity.
