If you ask me how often a piece of wood has to change it´s face to become a meaningful sculpture, I believe there might be just one answer: “It´s a point of view; it`s yours and mine!” We were taught to watch things grow while we`re walking straight towards them. It is as if we would like to hike up a hill from different sides to reach the top. It´s the same hill but a totally different experience to both of us.

Although talking about the same hill, everybody will talk about different things. So it is with art. With sculpture. We love to give things a name, a final shape, eternal lines.

But it all has a story to it. We all have different stories to it. My way to create a sculpture is always again running up that hill, collecting stories and get them into a form. JC 2006 ©
