| About the Artist |
As experienced as she is well educated, Tricia Sellmer emblazons collective dialogues upon canvas in pursuit of light, harmony, balance, presence, rhythm and concealed touch. Artists develop their personal thumbprint and achieve their individual voice through any number of sources. Tricia Sellmer chooses to use her childhood memories, stream-of-consciousness writings, conversations with intimate strangers as well as good friends, astonishing adventures, intense research, keen observation and her vivid imagination to connect all the coded dots within a multi-layered, multi-media art practice. It is not possible to separate her personal and professional lives. Tricia Sellmer’s work affords those who appreciate contemporary art a journey beyond traditional boundaries where, through careful contemplation, enthusiasts find unsurpassed emotional depth. Each exceptional painting provides a glimpse into the mysterious inner workings of a true artist’s conceptual message delivered through elusive textures, quality of line, and intensity of colour. The result is a culmination of tiny abstractions which when brought together become whole.
