The Artist is credited with the begining of a new style of Art in India. It is called Pseudorealism. It involves use of offbeat colours that do not correspond to the real world. Yet the scenes created in the paintings look real and comprehendible. |

| Ray has travelled all over his country India and has learnt art from various sources, artists and folk craftsmen. His style is thus not classified among the regular Indian Schools. It is a new genre. Ray has held solo as well as group exhibitions in major galleries in India including the Birla Academy of Art and Culture, (Kolkata, India), Academy of Fine Arts (Kolkata, India), Lalit Kala Academy (New Delhi,India) |
