Diana Gibson is an award-winning painter working en plein air and alla prima techniques. Ms. Gibson began studying oil painting at the Ridgewood Art Institute in 1997 with internationally known artist and teacher, John Phillip Osborne. |
| About the Artist | |
In the pursuit of excellence, she spends many long hours behind the canvas perfecting her skills. Whether it is inside a north-lit studio or outside on location, time is dedicated to the comprehension of the various effects and moods of nature. Her style of work is reminiscent of the late 19th and early 20th century American Impressionism movement. Her work is often described as expressing a strong sense of prismatic light and atmospheric qualities. Her subjects vary from plein air painting to studio work such as still life and portraiture. |

| Education and biography | |
| Ms. Gibson's work has been exhibited in New York City at various shows including the American Artists Professional League, Hudson Valley Art Association, and Allied Artists of America. Her work has also been exhibited at the Ringwood Manor Association of the Arts, in Ringwood, New Jersey. She has been the recipient of many awards, most notably Best of Show, The Grumbacher Gold Medal as well as other commendable honors. Diana is a Signature Member of the New York Plein Air Painters and she is the founder of the Plein Air Painters of the New Jersey Highlands. Diana is a member of the Board of Trustees at the Ridgewood Art Institute. She is represented by several galleries and her work has been sold to private collectors in the U.S. and abroad. Her work has been selected for the television series Law and Order, SVU. | |
