Born in New York in 1940, Jonathan Morse is a professor of English at the University of Hawaii's Manoa campus.

About the Artist

When Ansel Adams visited Hawaii, he was dissatisfied. Hawaii's humid atmosphere didn't let him see with the diamond clarity that made his images famous. Living in Hawaii, I try to make the ambient softness of the air into a subject in itself.
