| Jill Vance |

|
Born in Northern Ireland, Jill went to live in Italy, where she met her partner Lou Pizzi.
The name Ashton was chosen because it had been the name of Jill’s business while still living in Ireland, and she preferred an alias. Also, in the Italian alphabet there is no “J”, so her own name was a problem. Ashton was simple and easy.

Painted on the diagonal, these are hung as "diamonds". The colour around these is just to fill the area and is not part of the painting. |
