| 关于此艺术家 |
My ideas come from an intuitive process, I trust my unconscious mind to decide the initial characteristics of my work, from there the process begins. Spontaneity, compulsiveness, and the raw physicality of mark making are all characteristics of my recent work. With each mark I am expressing my feelings, emotions and personal experiences. The idea is to create tension, interaction, a sense of chaos, through this I am representing the relationship between a simple idea or situation that then grows to a more intense overwhelming, chaotic experience. Through the process of drawing and printmaking I can represent what lies between simple and complex. The process of making art is a way to work through these situations, a means of meditation. The idea is to express these emotions through an intricate mark making process of layering, through both adding and subtracting or erasure and build up of repetitive marks, lines and organic forms. What is left is a history, a palimpsest of actions and memories, much like the process of building our own lives and existence.
