| CARL PASCUZZI'S SUGAR BUDDIES.
Consciously or not we use remedies to heal anxieties, loneliness and empty feelings. When we call for a remedy, our easy going mind rushes for an effective solution that could come in a strong drink, a prescription, an illicit narcotic, outrageous sex, a trip to mass, meditation, exercise, or a breath of fresh air- anything to provide an instantaneous moment of satisfaction.
The photographs focus on a colorful sugar induced play date between seemingly innocent friends. A purposely exaggerated, over the top, "sugar trip." Pacuzzi's provocative photographs are a humorous portrayal of one "quick fix" remedy of life.
As the Sugar Buddies become frozen in fantasy, the viewer is forced to a sensory overload of primary color and repetitious movement. In kaleidoscopic inspired fashion the oblivious trio taunts onlookers to move closer and experience the remedy first hand.
