Tina Hauser

About the Artist

Short Introduction of Tina Hauser's artistic work

"As a part of our consumer society, I use materials which have been thrown away by society (garbage, and garbage cinders), as well as materials which excite our society (gold).

My work can only be realized with the help of society (the public is a part of this social body), because it uses materials which society digests and spits out (garbage and garbage cinder) or what belongs to society (gold reserves).

My raw material is stored is special areas (garbage bunkers, landfill sites, safes) and is a collection of inactive potential. I use this material for my sculptural interests. This has nothing to do with recycling but is used for work within my subject matter: Sculptured Storage.

The instruments applied for installation, photographie and vidio always underlie my perspective as a sculptress."

Tina Hauser, June 2006
