| Martha Bishop | |
Born September 23, 1950 Birth Place Meridian, Mississippi Married to Bobby Bishop for 26 years. Presently living in Lauderdale, Mississippi. I have loved painting all my life, studying art and learning to paint by myself as well. For about 20 years I have been painting mostly primitive scenes which include cotton gins, country weddings, stories from the bible and special requests. |

| About the Artist | |
Most of my paintings are in the primitive style because it is fun to do and people love the simple and charming pictures. I have been and still am inspired by the stories in the bible. Many people have asked me to paint something for them, something special, an old home place, a portrait, a pet, or something from a photograph. Old timey painting of days gone past are also some of the things I enjoy. |

| Education and biography | |
| I attended art classes in High School, and then took classes in Tole painting. When available I took classes with several prominent artists. I took a formal Master Art Course, also taking an extensive course in Antique Doll restoration, which of course included valuable information on painting in general, as well as how to restore paintings, and frames. Some of the places I have exibited work is the Coleman Art Gallery in York, Alabama, the Meridian Museum of Art in Meridian, Mississippi, and Portals Gallery in Chicago, Illnois. I have been invited to be included in other websites, galleries in New York, and a publication on color in Art. I have won blue ribbons on several paintings from The Dalewood Art Society over a period of many years. Currently paintings are on permanent exibit on The Art Exchange and on Cafe Press. |
