1958, Birmingham, England. I now live in Luton where I practice Nichiren Buddhism, ride round on a 1973 750 Triumph and rescue old printing equipment, guitars and mandolins fom the knackers.

I am an artist-printer whose medium is letterpress print using hand operated presses, lead and wood type and illustration blocks, which are either found or created by me using photopolymer or carved lino block. My work has been described as a meeting point between graphic design and fine art. It has a timeless quality, giving a contemporary yet traditional feel. I produce printed items, such as posters, postcards and other printed ephemera. I have an interest in experimental typography with image as a means of visual communication. My printing processes are open to experimentation with inking, colour and paper stock, making it possible to produce a run of prints whereby each piece is unique. |

| I am currently working on a set of hand printed posters to be produced in conjunction with the 'Made in England' mosaic project being installed in The Potteries Museum and Art gallery in Hanley. This is a piece of public art consisting of donated ceramic backstamps, and a website outlining the history of the stamps. The posters will explore idioms peculiar to the locality and ceramics industry. |
