I paint primarily about the ongoing relationship btween Aboriginal people and the dominant culture. As Aboriginal people are the invisible people here in Canada I try to let the mainstream population become aware of our reality by painting colourful soft social commentaries regarding our day to day existence. |

| This is portrait of my father from a photograph shortly before his discharge from the Canadian army after WW2. I have used his portrait in many of my works - pertaining to the damage to him during the war and the lack of respect and benefits entitled after returning because of his Metis heritage. |

| While I was a lay missionary in the north many people in Whitehorse did not even know where the local Indian village was - a mere 3/4 of mile from downtown. The reality of this situation meant that many did not know the conditions many of those people lived. Here are two brothers who comfort themselves on a big second hand chair. Many kids looked after their brothers and sisters as many parents were not always available due to drug and alcohol problems. |
