Abstraction leaves you pensive, even more if it is an unknown artist's work. Do not sulk your pleasure. Even if his work of art is real, Arto Egel isn't quite. Many must have guess. His name originated from the anagram alter ego meaning another self. He is in fact Claude Martin who adopted a name of loan like did many writers before. He did that cause the public of Quebec seems to prefer the paintings where one recognizes the author from one time to another. It reassures them. But the popularity of Egel is growing so fast he can't come back... |
