Riedstra works at a contemporary level and builds on the fundamentality of truth instead of a clouded reality. She mediates between object and subject through paintbrush and canvas, by reflecting the mirror back at the viewer without proclaiming.

Regarding the Barbs Series, there is an underlying concept that in modern day society it is difficult for women to achieve a true and uninfluenced identity of oneself because of the peer pressure that exists around her.

Regarding the Walls project - this large project contains 24 paintings - the concept is - to record (through paintings) the rapidly receding authenticity of Western European Cities by showing the authenticity of Lissabon.

All the paintings confuse and astonish the observer and invite them to share the emotional experience of the artist.
She lets herself be inspired by the works of Marc Rothko and Michelangelo. These works became the paradigm on which she bases her own works.

It is this such purity that is necessary for Riedstra to achieve in her art.

Riedstra studied in Tel Aviv, Isreal and in the Hague, Netherlands from the 1980’s onwards. …
She graduated from the MA Scenography department of St ’Martins College
In london, England, at the HKU in Utrecht, Netherlands and at the Theatre Institute, Seville, Spain
