My name's David but most people call me Dave nowadays. I'm artistic all round, there isn't an ounce of logic in me and I like it like that.

| 关于此艺术家 |
I love art and I see most things on our earth as a form of art, but I won't go into that here. I live my life as if I'm flicking through a picture book or walking the long room of an art gallery, stopping every now and again to admire something good. I'm a photographer, so most of my artwork is photography based. I aim to make people feel, to make people think, by means of my art. I'm inspired by the general world around me, little things in every day life and music. |

Coffee and Cigarette's
2006 119.27 x 81.28 |

My home town...
My town is a massive ex-mining community, it seems everybody around these areas has some relation to mining, and they don't half love this place. There are so many Diner and Coffee shops, on every street, down every alley and everywhere you look. I see people flock into them to watch the town buzz, to sit down and smoke cigarettes and drink coffee, and to remember the days when they were miners and miners wives.
I can only assume that this couple shares the same past as so many others here.
They seemed to stand out to me, I have seen them in this Diner window seat many times before, on my way into town.
I was lucky enough to catch them when I had my camera in hand. |

The Backstreet

Nottingham - I love this city for it's quirky little alleyways and backstreets. Turn a corner and you can be in a completley different world like this. |
Save the pigeons of Trafalgar Square

You get everything in London. Amongst the peace demonstrations and the anti-war marches, there has to be SOME humour. I had to laugh at these lot protesting about the pigeons, maybe they have a point though - Bring back the pigeons of trafalgar! |
The English Fruit Stall
2006 Photograph 26.26 x 19.51 |
|
An essence of English shopping - the market - I pass this stall every time I walk into town, and I pass a similar stall almost every time I walk through any other town in this country. I'm so familiar with it, why not just have a photograph and show other people too. |
Day dream

A woman looking out that coffee shop window into a world that forgot about care free times and easy living. Everything rushes by, everyone and everythng is too fast, too busy. Spend some time day dreaming. |

Town houses, no doubt that a lot of the residents are commuters. This row is about five minuites away from a mainline railway station. This street sees a lot of dull days, at least there's something vibrant to keep the spirits up. |
