The artist is a faithful follower of the impressionists, especially of Claude Monet, she declares. She also quotes another master of painting, Pablo Picasso, as a strong influence. Fernandes appreciates modernism, but also draws inspiration from the classical lines in her search for contemporary art. Her very special brushstrokes and strong colors are fundamental to her abstractionist style, creating intriguing lights and shadows. Her artwork can be classified as following a New Age style.
