Guingand is a self-educated artist who has been creating since childhood. 1982, arrives to Paris . Makes life - size sculptures of the sexual organs of women ,he meets. 1984,telephone conversation with Andre Masson. 1987, begin working on the representation of the individual, by immortalizing only the shadow of the personalities who pose for him and co-signs the painting. 1988, first exhibition, in Paris, Privilege Space. 1990, private exhibition in Paris, Meta Gallery Bastille. 1991, joint exhibition in at the Grand Palais, Paris The independents. In July, Leo Castelli receives Guingand, and pose for him. 1992, joint exhibition at the Grand Palais Paris, Contemporary artists. while visiting Paris ,Leo Castelli stops by Guingand's studio, to look at these paintings and says; He absolutely has to show this works, in New York. 1993, private exhibition , at the Carre des Arts Center in Chalon-sur-Saone . This exhibition was under the patronage of the French Minister Mr. Dominique Perben. 1994, private exhibition to Paris, Gallery Strouck. Meeting with Pierre Restany, start of a great friendship. Pierre Restany poses for him. 1995, march, private exhibition in Paris, at the Louvre (Fosse Charles V) 100 Shadows. This exhibition was under the patronage of the French Prime Minister Mr. E.Balladur. may, private exhibition at The Palais in Cannes . june, in partnership with two television channels TF1, Canal+ and Drouot, auction house , he organizes large art auction of 70 of his Shadows works, all proceed donated to the campaign against AIDS. Sponsor Claudia Schiffer , Carla Bruni & Peter Gabriel . Auction under the patronage of the French Minister of culture Mr. Ph. Douste-Blazy. 1996, private exhibition Gallery 50, in Paris . 1999 & 2003 work on a monumental and revolutionary work with the support and participation of his friend the art critic Pierre Restany, who has died since This artwork will be shown in New York, in 2008. 2002, creation of art work video installation The Heart of Art . 2005, start work on his last 21 shadow paintings shadows with the participation of 21 great contemporary artists. |
