The nature and culture of different countries combine to form the inspiration of my paintings. The paintings borrow from bright colours and intriguing textures found in some of the more impressive forms I’ve discovered in these countries. Many of these references are also widely used in architecture.

Through painting, I am transforming my experience and inspiration. The integration of natural materials such as sand, stone, cones and bamboo as well as photographic images allows me to create a play between my experience and the things that inspire me such as structures and aesthetic forms. This transformation, I think, provides a natural perspective from an architectural point of view.

Incorporating natural colours and forms in architecture and interior design allows an atmosphere of balance and calmness to emerge that enhances the daily awareness of our own individual lives.
