Christoph Mueller:
“I came to the solution in the last years of studying that you can try any style or whatever … the thing that makes your artwork interesting is when you find out what’s insideof you. Who you are. What gets you going. All that kind of stuff. That’s where it becomes real art. Or at least something that I think is worthy of doing.â€
Joe Coleman:
“Yeah, and the process of doing that Christoph, is painful.â€
Christoph Mueller:
“Yeah.â€
Joe Coleman:
“But that’s the prize. It should be painful. Most things that are worth while in life are painful. And life, even though you might try to avoid it, which is understandable, anyone would try to avaoid the fucked-up things in life, but that’s what life is about. Life is about pain. Everybody’s going to suffer, so why don’t you face the suffering that’s important to you. You’re going to suffer all the other things too. Everybody … No-one gets out of this world alive.†|

Ukulele

Mr. Mueller’s great love for music coupled with his experiences gained while staying in Hawai’i from 1996 to 1997 recently resulted in a finely painted Ukulele. This instrument is a one of a kind item. “I enjoyed painting the uke very much†he states. Chances are Mueller will paint more instruments in the future. |
Aces Of Spade

To Mueller a deck of cards is a most important item. It is rich with symbolic meaning. 52 cards represent the 52 weeks of the year. The four colors stand for the four elements; the four winds of life. The two warm seasons of the year can be found in the red colors, the two cold seasons in the black colors. The power of the light, love and sex and the power of the darkness, the forces of gloom and sorrow. To Mueller four colors also represent “Sentireâ€, “Videreâ€, “Observareâ€, and “Ordinareâ€. Spade and Heart are of special importance as they symbolize “Ingenium†and “Corporisâ€. They all are united in a deck, the same way Mueller attempts to unite them in his work. |
