I was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have a degree in photography from the University of New Mexico, studying under the tutelage of Tom F. Barrow and Patrick Nagatani. I was an a apprentice with the great painter Oskar D'amico, who has since pasted. |

Painting is main vehicle of expression. The time away from painting in my studio is spent on photography, and writing. My last series of oil paintings, entitled Vessels and Vestiges, were a contemplation on reproduction, existence, and transcendence. My influences include performance artists Marina Abramovic, Carolee Schneemann, and Mary Beth Edelson. My painterly influences include DeKooning, Rubens, and Bacon, and from photography Witkin, who has a deferent painterly quality to his work. Writers that I have been looking at include feminist writers, and poets like Sharon Olds and Amanda Chiado. |

| Whimsical, that's the word that comes to mind when I look at this work. I find a classical feel to this drawing. My years looking at the paintings and drawings of great artists comes out, and still what also comes out is Americana, crease cheeked on couches watching the boobtube. flights of fancy seem to partake under the crest of an umbrella, and this image does not disappoint. These angel paintings are elaborations and recombinations of the vernacular. |
