Angelika Fojtuch’s performance work deals with the issues of communication, the role of body and emotions in interpersonal relations and the creation of identity confronting them with the mechanisms of culture. Focusing on gender questions and norms of individual’s appearance in public space, she explores and crosses the borders of social conduct in order to reveal collective latent tensions, neglected fantasies or traumatic fears. Her work is usually conceived as a process of interaction with an audience, that Fojtuch often puts in uncomfortable or embarrassing situations. She often refers also to the specific social and psychological context of the performance’s site. Since 2006 she has been involved in partnership with BBB Johannes Deimling, they founded together PORT PERFORMANCE- forum for performance art. |

| In one of the rooms of Szyperska Galeria the audience comes together and wait. I am standing outside of this room and wait until the audience is assembled. With an impuls I run with speed in the room, scream “Trzymaj się, kurwa, trzymaj się!” (double meaning in polish language: 1. hold on to, 2. hold out) and jump on the soulders of a man, which I don´t know before and try to stay on his body without touching the ground. It is a fight with my and his force and also his balance. We begin to sweat and his body starts hardly to shake. I try all the time to find on his back, arms or shoulders a better hold for myself, but with the time I slip more and more down. After an exsourcting time I lay up on the ground and leave the room.
In a second version of twoja I jump on a leg of a man and hold me tight. I scream loudly “Biegnij” (run) and “Szybciej” (faster). |

| My place for this Performance is not known by the audience before. I am standing in an absoltuly dark room of the art space Klosz.Art. Beside me are standing empty glass bottles. If someone wants to enter the space I start extremly loud to scream. If that person wants to come closer I also crash a bottle on the floor to keep the distance. This action I will do since my physical border is reached and my voice is disapeared. |

| Since 1998 she continued her studies at different polish art academies: in Toruñ, Kraków, Poznañ and Gdañsk. During her studies, her artistic interest orientates in inter-media, on video, object, photography and finally performance, currently her main workingfield. In 2005 she finished her art studies with the performance „Jaka Miłość Taka Sztuka“ (Such Love, Such Art) as an absolvent of the art academy in Gdañsk of the class from Grzegorz Klaman. |
