Since I was little I was always doodling the creatures of the sea, being right on the marshes and beaches of South Carolina gave me a lot to be inspired from. As I grew older I started to expand from doodles and began to paint people and abstract images, I really found a great sensuality in figure studies. Organic forms interest me greatly, I always felt an attachment to nature, my Grandfather would say it's my Cherokee blood. I like to research heavily first by collecting information and creating collages and drawings from these sources. I have started to focus on abstracting my still life studies of forms of nature upon large canvases and am continuing to explore their potential with oil paint.
