Bruce Price graduated from local Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in 1997 and immediately received positive attention both commercially and curatorially. After several successful group and solo shows, he hit his stride in 2004 with the exhibition "Fill: The New York Paintings. " His first exhibition with Plus Gallery, the extraordinary works gained him recognition as the Top Abstract Painter for the year in the Rocky Mountain News. While continuing his studio practice and also teaching at RMCAD, Price simultaneously pursued his Master's degree through the Maine College of Art in between exhibitions. Upon receiving his Masters in 2005, Price returned to the gallery with "Full, " which became one of the most memorable exhibitions of the year and was regarded as the Best Solo Show of 2005 by Westword. The caliber of his work and exhibitions allowed Price to become entrenched in the Denver market, not quite a household name but one that collectors and curators alike recognized as one of the region's top talents. |

| April 21 - May 25, 2007 "The Plane Upon Which Events Happen" "The Plane upon which events happen" is the latest offering of new abstract paintings from Bruce Price. At first glance, these large scale canvases defy certain traditions the artist established in his early works, promoting gestures and visual motifs that are loose and varied. Upon closer analysis, however, one can see the artist slowly pursuing a broad dialogue that bridges into the earlier works, to the point where taken as a whole they mesh towards a sublime understanding of the depths of exploration possible within abstract painting. |
