| About the Artist |
I have two sides to my artistic interests. I paint with a classical realistic style. I try to give tribute to the teachings of my Grandmother for a love and respect of people and nature. I am also drawn to the artwork of the Pacific Northwest Coast Native Americans, learning about their culture, and wanting to share what I have learned. Mother Winkler
2006 Oil on Canvas 60.96cm x 45.72cm |
|
My husbands Great Grandmother. I have to admit I painted her from a 1947 photo taken in Chicago. I never actually met her but I absolutely adored the pose they caught her in. She was attending a wedding. I wish I knew how to find the photography studio to ask about the rights. She is not for sale but I do use her to show that I can do a portrait. |

Autumn Crescendo J. P. West Road
2002 Oil on Canvas 45.72cm x 60.96cm |
|
These people actually planted the trees just for the autumn colors. They have since replaced the fence with one not as picturesque. I had my husband take photos for me and at one point he had to stand nearly on top of a large active ant hill to get the angle down the fence line. |

End of the Historic Scholls Tile Factory
2008 Oil on Gesso Board 27.94cm x 35.56 |
|
Award Winner Expressions of Nature.Expressions of Self show The Kingstad Gallery. This factory used to make clay drainage tile in huge brick kilns. Behind it now is a plant nursery. Crates and all sorts of items are piled around the building. I love the burnt sienna in all the clay, the blue of the old junk cabinets, and the rust on tin. |

Sky Spirit came to earth and formed Mount Shasta. He brought his family to this new home. He made Grizzly and placed him at the base.
