Claudio Monnini is an eclectic contributor: for more than 20 years he has been involved in advertising, set design, painting, product and graphic design. his focus is on the human body, mainly female, which he frames in elongated marine formats like doors left half open. Verism, body language, intense expression, anatomic tension and painting matter are the non-variations of his poetic language. The body is the raw and sympathetic set where the mind is stirred, sending messages that the face tries to evade. |

| Architect, set designer and painter Claudio Monnini belongs to a family of artists. His father, Alvaro Monnini, signed the ''Manifesto dell'Astrattismo Classico'' (Classic Abstractism Manifest) and co-founded the florentine group ''Arte d'Oggi''(1947 - 1950). Claudio exhibited for the first time, aged 12, in 1977 at ''Centro le Mura'' in an exhibition curated by Luciano Consigli and participated very young to several issues of Humour Graphic. As a 'grown up' he mainly exhibited for friends and at their establishments outside the official art network. These have been locations devoted to excellent taste and culinary flavours (L'Uva Golosa and Antica Hostaria Ae Do Porte).He's now participating to several international exhibition: Michetti Prize, Francavilla al mare (Ch); 'Vade retro.Arte e omosessualità. Da von gloeden a Pierre et Gilles', first in Milan now in Florence, 'Nuovi pittori della realtà', in Milan, in the PAC (Contemporary Art Pavillon). Over the years Claudio has been engaged in several portrait commissions. |
