I was born in Hudson, Ohio in 1963, and grew up in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Three years ago, I relocated to Tampa Bay, Florida to be in a warmer climate and live close to the ocean.
Art has always been my life. Early on, it taught me that if you work hard enough, despite the obstacles (and I've had many) and believe in yourself, you can be a successful freelance artist. Never give up and keep learning. Don't let anyone stop you from achieving your goals.

Doing the artwork I do is something that comes deep from my heart. Knowing animal anatomy and how plants are formed helps me to achieve a more realistic style of work. Artwork takes a lot of practice but to me it's not "work," ever. When I'm not drawing, I'm either reading or photographing nature, as reference material is a very important part of what I do in order to be accurate.
I am truly grateful to all the people who express strong positive feelings about my art. Seeing their faces light up when they see it really makes my day. Life can be so brutal but my art gives me peace and happiness; I forget stress when I sit at my drafting table, pen in hand. I draw animals because I've dedicated my entire life to their well-being - teaching and informing people, especially children - about their importance in this world.

My work has been featured on television, on the cover of magazines and newspapers, as well as other venues. These days, I am less in the spotlight and back at the drafting table, creating more art to sell. I sell prints of my work through my websites.
