I was born in Charleston, WV and now make a permanent home in the Boulder area of Colorado. My painting comes out of my meditation practice. When my mind is relaxed from the usual chaos and discursiveness and chattiness our most basic nature which is (in a nutshell) pure creativity can express itself. My best work happens when I drop all the plans and projects and let the painting happen. |

I’m particularly interested in and influenced by the old east Asian aesthetics that include asymmetry, grace, harmony and wabi-sabi where beauty is when a thing most honestly expresses itself in all its messy, imperfect, genuine glory. I work primarily in acrylics on canvas with silks, and metal leafs. I like to explore the things that connect us as human beings – our desires to be met and known and understood. |

| I have a BA in Religion and French and a MA in Religious Studies and a life-long love of art classes and workshops. I’ve shown locally in the past three years, culminating in a show in January 2007 at the Dairy Center for the Arts – our local non-profit art gallery. | |
