• Studied painting, drawing, printing and carpentry at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle during the late 1970s with Sherry Markovitz, Sarah Clark-Langager, Karen Guzak, Charles Stokes, Kathleen Rabel, and John Overton.
• Studied printing at Western Washington University, Bellingham in the mid-80s with Tom Johnston.
