Born in 1940 in Gröden/Gardena, Italy. Training in the sculptor workshop of the brothers Hermann, Rudolf and David Moroder in addition to attending the Art Institut of St.Ulrich/Ortisei. Longer study experiences in England and France followed. Five children, living with wife Hiltrud in Barbian, South Tyrol, Italy. |
| About the Artist | |
Lothar Dellago is a sculptor whose philosphy "To catch the essential with a few clear and simple lines" has gone into every single piece of his woodcarvings. His favourite material is the wood from the European Chestnut tree, a typical tree of the region. He gets his inspirations from every day life, his early works reflect the importance of his family: Couples in love, kids, farm animals. Later in his artistic career he begins experimenting with abstract forms, with additional colours. His latest sculptures show a recollection to figurative elements. |
