My work reflects my personal history as someone whose identity is shaped by different cultures. I aim to combine traditional Chinese watercolour painting technique with contemporary concepts. I want to create odd, out of the ordinary images consisting of fragments of scenes from my daily life, which currently include my life in the UK and China based on sketches and photos, memories from my childhood and my fantasy world. The concept of my painting is about differences and changes I experience in time, places, people, ideologies and what these changes might affect my consciousness. |
