| A pop flower pattern is impressed on the picture and slides onto the blanket on the bed, becoming space to live within. A face shows up on the canvas, wearing a blue cap, reminding us about the Good Morning of any real day. Our room changes together with performer Rino de Masco. The installation excites the atmosphere, and a place transforms in the ironic territory of mimetism, of any possible excess, of an upside-down of any old normality taken for granted. |

| Mimetical and diverse, complex beyond the presence of brand names and bodies, Roxy identifies herself with the products she chooses to re-elaborate but also with the characters which feed her unique form of fetishism. The style of protagonism the artist adopts is cynically spectacular, deriving from intelligent and visual intuitions and a sensual form of irony which envelopes the culture of the highest form of pop imagery. Her visions harmoniously roar with melancholy and explode with languid sounding colour. The body shifts from excessive representations of herself to that of her many alter-egos seized from the endless possibilities available in today’s world. The actions, combined with still imagery, impend on the observer with the same natural and magnificent ambiguity of an emotionally touching. Roxy does not compromise; she is true to herself and to her need to create to survive. Colour becomes resistance, her figures become resistance. A battle in which transformism narrates the many faces a body is made of and in particular the soul. |
