| About the Artist |
I was born with a disfiguring birth defect which caused alienation from my human family and subsequent development of Dissociative Identity Disorder. As a result I turned to Feline Society for the Love and Nurturance which my human family denied me. I am now spending my life supporting and making artwork about those Feline Persons who have saved my life. |

Heinz, aka Hyena is a Sweet, Little Siamese Mix who suffers with Epilepsy. His seizures are quite severe and He must take Phenobarbitol to control them. In spite of this, Heiny Man remains an extremely Intelligent, Empathic and Loving Soul and a True Joy in my life! Whenever He feels Himself becoming ill with His Epilepsy, He seeks me out and stands on my feet, blocking my path until I give Him His medicine! My love of this Brave, Little Guy is absolutely Intense and Deep and He is a Huge Source of Courage and Inspiration to me! Everyone who meets Heiny Man becomes Enchanted by this Remarkable, Little Man! |

Gumbo, The Biting Cat
2008 Oil Pastel and Graphite on Bristol Board 12" x 10" |
|
This is a portrait of the most Infamous of Biting Cats, Gumbo The Terrifying, aka Gumby Gangrene, aka Gumbo The Sceptic, who has put me in the Hospital NO LESS than FOUR times for a week a clip, with His frighteningly sceptic, deep and brutal Bitings! I traded a reformed Biter of mine named Soto to an abjectly terrorized group of college kids whose apartment Gumbo had commandeered and ruled by Claw and Tooth. Gumbo is a Stealth Biter who attacks viciously and without warning and has on one occassion bitten me clean through my nose (right through my sceptum!!!)! This is why Gumbo is one of my Favorite Boyz. He is utterly indominatable!!! |
Meatball, The Cattie Who Talks To Himself
2008 Oil Pastel and Graphite on Bristol Board 10" x 12" |
|
This is a portrait of Meatball, a Jolly Mog whom I rescued as a Kitten, with His Brother Knuckles from the chassis of a Bronx Lumber Lorry. A friend of mine called me and frantically led me to the Truck where Meatball and Knuckles could be heard loudly and plaintively screaming for Their Mum Who had hidden Her Babes in the vehicle while it sat in a lot in the Bronx. When I found the newly orphaned Boyz, the Truck had been driven some 30 miles to the East Village in Manhattan. The Brothers have been with me their whole lives since although Knuckles remains pretty feral.
Meatball likes to walk around chirping like he's worrying about something. He absolutely craves physical contact with me and has become one of my Bed Crew! |
Ka-Ching, The Cattie With A Trust Fund!
2005 9" x 12" |
|
| |
Otter Pop, My Right Hand Man!
2008 Oil Pastel and Graphite on Bristol Board 10" x 12" |
|
Otter Pop is a Tuly Awesome Little Gentleman Who lost His Left Arm to a battle with Fibrosarcoma, a particularly nasty cancer that some Moggies develop at Their vaccination site. Fortunately for Otter Pop, The tumor was caught in time and required only the loss of His Arm, NOT His Sacred, Beloved Life!
Otter Pop is always Very Cheerful and doesn't take any Guff from the Other Catties. If Anyone gits up in His Grille, Otter just SNAPS His Chops an Inch in front of The Offender's Face and Backs Him Down! I really ADMIRE Otter Pop's Peaceful and Very Daoist ways of dealing with Aggression! A Fierce and Fantastic Bluff on Otter's Part Disarms all Violent Situations He may encounter! How Intelligent is that! |
"Santos, My First Cat Icon
2005 Oil Pastel & Graphite on Bristol Board 30cm x 25cm |
|
Santos leapt out of the fifth story window of a flaming tenement building on E. 3rd St. in the East Village in the winter of 1994. He hit the cement sidewalk on his on His Feet and limped off into a vacant lot. I found Him the following evening sprawled in the middle of that same sidewalk immobilized by His injuries from the Fall. I ran home, grabbed some towels and a carrier, ran back, carefully loaded Santos into the carrier and rushed Him to The Animal Medical Center where Santos was treated for His injuries and released into my custody. Did I mention that I found Him when I was walking home from Cat Show at Madison Square Garden after winning 50 lbs of Free Cat Food from an Iams Sales Promotion? Bast, The Goddess Mother of All Kittens, does work in mysterious ways! |
