| About the Artist | |
The act of painting can only be a poor reflection of a small facet of the human condition. When we look back through our histories and revisit some of these facets, it is art that gives us the best insight into what we call the human condition, humankind has a need to explore and represent the world as we see and experience it. Art can describe that experience, the thoughts that words cannot represent, our faiths, beliefs, perception and feelings, can all be expressed through the act of creativity |

| Ron Baxter C.V. Scarborough North Yorks email ronbaxteronline@googlemail.co.uk web http://www.ronbaxteronline.co.uk I have worked in heavy engineering as a Store man and served my apprenticeship as a Welder in Haverton hill shipyard .I have worked in Holland and Germany and lived in Derby for a few years. I have also worked in residential/day-Care Officer looking after adults with learning difficulties, taught basic living, office, literacy and keyboard skills to school leavers. Moved to Scarborough in 2000 to study Fine Art at Scarborough University Collage achieving a B.A.(Hons) Fine art I have long been fascinated by the nature of aesthetic values and how I as an artist I interpret those values, what is the difference if any between intrinsic and physical beauty? How does one interact with the other, can one exist without the other or is there a point of separation and if so where or what is it? As an artist I want to explore what it is that I can add, substitute or ignore in the subject matter that will push the boundaries of the aesthetic, to discover and exploit the point of disconnection while at the same time hold on to the subjects and the artworks integrity. 2004 Hello (How are you?) A major light installation on Scarborough beach to celebrate the shortest day of the year.
