I like to use a stainglass kind of see thru shinny paint on glass and mirrors. Visualy attracted to vivid, shinny jewel tone colors. This tecnique is called ""Vitrail" in Persian and the closest thing it would resemble is a stain glass window. I paint on one sheet of glass or mirror. This is something that I love looking at and creating. I am inspired greatly by the Persian miniatures of Pre-Islamic era, where they were used to acommpany the poems of Omar Khayam, Haafez and many great others. A featured poem would have a corresponding painting of the same story. I remember as a child looking at my dads classic poetry books and thinking how terrible it was that these pictures were being looked at once in a blue moon, if someone happened to flip thru the pages of this book, and then put it back on a shelf. I wanted to bring these paintings out of those pages and magnify them, paint them, re-create them in a bold kind of way that you couldnt not look at them even if you wanted to.
