Julia is inspired by music and the graphical interpretation of mood and emotion envoked when listening to music.Contemporary work is abstract exploring the concept of depicting music using a layered painting style.
In my contemporary work the use of colour in representing mood is indicative of the gradual process of mood change.
Vibrant Hues of colour are used when signifigant emotions are generated.
Lyrics and vocal quality are portrayed as heavy lines, illustrative of the length of verse and chorus.
The melody of the music is shown as flowing fluid lines that interact with and accompany the vocals at specific points in the song. Early influences include Pollock and De Kooning.
