Born in Wetherby, England in 1965, Gray came to fine art painting through the time-honored tradition of illustration. At college, he earned a Higher National Diploma in Advertising and Illustration, passing with distinction. Gray’s ability to specialize in contemporary figurative and landscape paintings, as well as highly coveted genre scenes, was honed in the rigorous demands of commercial art. His array of clients included such important companies as Pepsi, Universal Studios, Granada Television Studios (UK), Hershey, Nestle and others. Gray painted book covers for prestigious British publishers such as Hodder & Stoughton, Corgi and Pan Macmillian. |
