| 关于此艺术家 |
My art celebrates the beauty of nature. I draw what I love – the quiet, less traveled places. My heart is there, out in the fields among the wildflowers and weeds, where man’s touch is lightest and the spirit of nature shines brightly. Working outdoors in the impressionist’s “plein air” tradition, I capture the shimmering light and patterns changing in front of me. As time passes an image of stunning intensity emerges.
I work directly with handheld chunks of pigment (pastels). Simple, direct, primal – much like how ancient artists created the cave paintings, some of mankind’s earliest art. Those first images were magic, deeply spiritual, bringing the unseen to life. Like the cave painters, I try to connect with the spirit of the natural world. Each stroke has energy, primal and intimate, created with the touch of my hand. Viewers feel this energy, and often mention the passion and emotion in my work.
My art provides a comforting respite from the everyday world, transporting viewers to a blissful visual paradise, a place full of joy and life. A collector recently commented: “I love this art! It gives me such a calm, serene feeling – like all is right in the world.”
