| Taylor Anne Smith |
| |
|
Born in the USA in 1963, Taylor Anne Smith began eating dirt by the age of three. On her sixth birthday she was crossed with seaweed and stars by mermaids. She paints every day as a direct result of this.

| About the Artist |
Taylor Anne Smith has been creating art in oil, acrylic, wine, coffee and gouache since 1986. Inspired by the sentiment of 20th century expressionists Pollock, Dubuffet, Leger, Mondrian and Rothko but carrying a distinct through-line of her own inner progress, Taylor continues to express universal truths through her unique canvases.
Taylor enhances the surface of her paintings by adding texture to the base of her canvas with such diverse materials as sand, broken glass, silicone and Prozac capsules. She has also mixed wine and coffee into her paint for a continuing series of works revolving around the simple pleasures of coffee and wine.
Taylor studied language, art and public policy at Indiana University. She subsequently resided in Europe for five years, painting and traveling the MidEast, Russia, Europe and the Mediterranean. Her work has been featured by Starbucks Corporation, at several galleries in Germany and also at various galleries in the United States. Her work is included in private collections in Europe and the United States. |
