| David W Sumner |

|
Born and raised in Southern California, David began his professional career as an archaeologist and teacher. He was introduced to photography while working at the San Bernardino County Museum.
"The first time I looked through the viewfinder of a 35mm camera and turned the focusing ring on the lens I instantly understood the power of photography. It was all there at my fingertips: the ability to translate a vision into the universal language of pictures."

| 关于此艺术家 |
David has been photographing for over twenty years. With the exception of a brief period shooting color for magazines, the majority of those years have been spent working in black and white. He has always been drawn to images that strongly imply a human presence but lack the visual of a human figure. While people often appear as significant elements in his images they are rarely the subjects of his photography, but when they are they usually are not aware of being photographed. These images are often more dynamic than those in which the person or group is conscious of the camera.
