SUSAN K BOYLE
I am known for figurative art. The techniques I use are blind contour drawings, gesture drawings, painting with fluid acrylic paint, and hand-pulled linocuts.
My husband and I live in the hill country of Texas.

| About the Artist |
Drawing from life, with a model in the studio, is my preferred way of working. I coordinate a weekly life drawing session with local artists. Our models are ordinary people, neighbors, and friends, whose inner lives are often revealed in their gesture, expression, or demeanor. Occasionally, I leave the studio to join other area artists for painting en plein air. |

| Education and biography |
I studied fine art at Arizona State University, and after graduation worked as a commercial artist at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, Mo. I changed careers but continued to take art classes at every opportunity at places like The Art Students League in New York, The Kansas City Art Institute, and Texas Woman’s University. My current focus is on drawing and painting images of people, I also use those images in printmaking.
