The Encaustic and Mixed media work evolves out of a combination of influences including ariel photos of the western desert of the United States, Architectural forms,grids, and the use personal and cultural symbols. I like to us disparate materials and try to find a way to make them work in the painting. The Sculpture is created from both found and fabricated steel components assembled with little preliminary planning or thought. When I am around them I get the sense that they are some sort of entity or guardian like form. |
