| About the Artist |
Ambiguous, uncertain, unsettled, and disconnected are a few terms that describe the early stages of my life. The third child in a family of mixed religious inclinations - Polish Jews and German Lutherans, there was never solid ground to stand on. Adding to that, we were constantly packing and unpacking like drifters, setting up a new home every few months. Consistency and stability are not the foundation of my personality.
My work explores the flow of life, the constant, consistent movement of all things, and how social orders struggle with natural orders.
Rather than confining myself to one media, or setting stylistic limitations, I choose to work with a creative method that is like a consant exploration that fixates for a moment when something captures my attention. I steer away from the formal structure associated with creating a body of work. I enjoy experimenting with constructive and material aesthetics, socio-political perceptions, and the planned versus the accidental, using a dialogue of pluralism that engages and modifies divergent artistic practices. |
